Working with Applique
Appliqué is an easy way to create bigger designs without the long stitch times. Using a built-in Appliqué font on your multi-needle machine means you can offer lettering that looks impressive while still keeping production efficient.
Fabric letters on towels are a simple place to start. A print fabric adds colour and detail. Keep a small selection of woven fabrics on hand to give customers choices in how they personalise their towels.
Depending on the thickness of the towel, you may choose to hoop the towel directly or float it over stabiliser. The built-in basting stitch will keep everything in place

Position Guide
Working on the opposite end to the label, centre your design, 4” up from edge or 1-2“ above decorative band.
Size Guide
A design around 70mm x 300mm will suit many names but if the name to be embroidered is longer you will need multiple hooping's.
Design Variation
Swap the applique fabric for seasonal prints to create limited-edition colourways.
Market insight
Many businesses find that appliqué towels can hold a higher perceived value because the print fabric makes the design look more substantial. Customers see them as premium gifts, which can support stronger margins.
Tip
To support the weight of the towel, attach the Wide Table to your machine.
Shortcut
For easier access when trimming your applique fabric, use the Needle bar/ Frame Move key to move the hoop.
Troubleshooting
Test your stitching on spare toweling. When embroidering thicker towels use the Density key to increase your stitch density.
