FAQ: Printout is blank or missing one or more of the colours – Inkjet
If one or more of the ink colours are missing from your printed documents, the ink cartridge(s) may not be installed correctly or nozzles in the print head may be clogged. Verifying the ink cartridges are installed properly and/or cleaning the print head may resolve this issue.
- Verify the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
- Follow the steps listed below to check the print quality and clean the print head.
Depending on your model machine follow the methods below to start the cleaning process on your device.
Press (Ink) > Improve Print Quality > Check Print Quality.
Press (Settings) > Maintenance > Improve Print Quality > Check Print Quality
Press Menu > Ink / Ink Management > Test Print > Print Quality > OK > Start
Press Menu / Settings > Ink / Maintenance > Impr. Print Quality > Impr. Print Quality > OK > Start
Complete the onscreen instructions to perform the cleaning of the print head.
If cleaning the print head does not resolve your issue after multiple attempts, please follow the steps here to confirm whether you are using a genuine Brother Ink cartridge.
