Cartridge Recycling
Cartridges 4 Planet Ark
According to Planet Ark, Australians throw away more than 18 million printer cartridges
every year. This amounts to over 5,000 tonnes of material, including laser toner cartridges,
inkjet cartridges, photocopier toner bottles and drums, that will eventually end up in
landfill. That's why Planet Ark set up 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark'.
Brother proud sponsor of Cartridges for Planet Ark
Brother is a proud partner in the Planet Ark and Close the Loop Initiative to recycle used ink cartridges for zero waste. Another way Brother is working to preserve the environment for future generations.
Using Close the loops revolutionary Green Machine, used ink cartridges, toners and drums are then recycled into the below items:
Toner - Pigment colour agent for the production of eWood a plastic timber replacement product.
Aluminium - Smelting into new aluminium products.
Steel - Smelting into new steel products, such as structural steel beams for building.
Inkjet inks - Used in the production of eWood.
Plastics - Plastics are currently granulated, filtered and made into eWood being commercialised for a range of industrial applications
