Front operation

The front operation configuration enables routine operation and maintenance to be carried out with a minimal effort. Subsequently, space around the Brother Colour Laser Series can be used more efficiently.

1. Paper feed/discharge: carried out from the front
2. Replenishing of consumables can also be carried out from the front.

USB Direct Interface

Use a USB Direct Interface to print and/or save data without a PC connection.

1. Directly prints data stored in the USB memory
2. Support for PictBridge allows direct printing of data from digital cameras
3. Directly store scanned data in USB memory

*Note that DCP-9040CN does not support this function

Tilt-up Panel

The printer features a tilt-up panel. A three colour LCD enables a user to readily determine the printers status.

Green : Ready to print / Printing / Warming up
Red : Error (There is a problem with the printer)
Orange : Choosing a menu

Visual panel design

Utilizing an ergonomic design, the control panel acts as an intuitive interface for a broad range of users.

1. Layout of mode keys and buttons according to function
2. Back light for greater visibility
3. Separate [Start] buttons are provided for B/W and colour printing.

Paper handling

In addition to a standard 250-sheet paper tray, two additional trays are provided: a 50-sheet tray for multiple paper types, and an optionally tray that can be added for one ream of paper (= 500 sheets). This results in an impressive total maximum paper capacity of 800 sheets of the same paper type.

Utility software

With the "Control Center" utility software, a range of settings can be specified through a PC, not on the machine. Editing or making additions to the Address Book can now be efficiently performed remotely on the PC.
