Brother P-touch electonic labellers uses unique and advanced laminated tape technology.
P-touch TZ tapes are the only tapes available that have a unique lamination, which makes the labels heat, cold, water, chemical and fade resistant (perfect for use outdoors, cold environments and near food). The labels are extremely durable, have a professional finish and will outlast other labels.
At Brother, we have thought about when, where and how you might need to use our labels so we put them through a series of rigorous tests, which means that even when they’re exposed to heavy abrasion, heat, cold, sunshine, water and chemicals, our labels have been designed to last. 1. Tape types
There are the following tape types:
Laminated tape (TZ tape)
- Resistant to water, sunlight, chemicals, heat and cold
- Can stick to virtually any surface
- Are durable as they won’t fade or tear
- Can be used indoors (such as microwaves and freezers) as well as outdoors
- Labels do not leave a sticky residue when they are removed, leaving a smooth, clean surface
Non-laminated tape (M tape)
- Perfect for general indoor use
- Available in a range of colours

Fluorescent tape
- Tapes are brighter, which stands out more than standard colour tape
- Useful for signs and notices
Iron on Fabric tape
- Tape is made from cloth and allows users to produce iron-on labels for clothing
- Clothing with Iron on Fabric tape can be dry cleaned

Tamper Evident tape (laminated)
- Has a special adhesive so if the label is removed, a checkerboard pattern is left behind on the surface
- Ideal for use on company equipment
Flexible Identification tape (laminated)
- Made with special materials designed for labelling around sharp bends and around cylindrical surfaces
- Label will not lift up by the edges, ensuring a complete adhesion to the surface
- Ideal for flagging cables
Strong Adhesive tape (laminated)
- Has twice the adhesive strength than regular P-touch tape
- Can be used on a wide range of industrial materials
- Ideal for harsh environments & textured surfaces
Cleaning tape
- Cleans print heads after heavy usage for continuos optimum performance
- Good for up to 100 cleanings
